Hello all,

First of all, I am sorry that I am posting this question message to
the wrong group (please let me know where the better groups are).

I purchased a (used) Sierra Wireless AirCard 750 (T-Mobile), and am
trying to install it to a Dell Inspiron 8500 with W2K (with service
pack 4).

The driver and software for the card was downloaded from Sierra
Wireless's website. And they were installed with no problem until the
message which says to "insert a card".

Once inserting a card in the slot, the PC gets freezed (no reply to
keyboards or a mouse). And then, when the card is removed, the PC
shut down and restart itself.

If the PC is started with the card inserted, W2K never starts but many
error messages(??) comes out.

If you have had any similar symptoms and then solved it fortunately,
please give me advice to solve this.
I have asked Dell Tech people but never knew about the case with
Sierra's products and told me to contact T-Mobile, and asked Sierra
but no reply at all.
I am guessing it is something related with drivers' cofliction, but no
idea how to fix it.

Thank you so much in advance for your help.

Regards,

Sophie

Hi Sophie,

I just got my Sierra AirCard 750 a couple of months ago. I had the same problem with an HP Pavilion zd7010us. There is a patch
on the Sierra web site. Tech support gave me the URL, and I installed it the system works great.

I did not write down the URL. If tech support doesn't know what the URL is, drop me a line, and I will e-mail the patch to you.

Also, once you have the patch installed, you should upgrade the firmware if hasn't already been done.

I have already done some traveling with the T-Mobile account (Washington DC, Chicago IL and San Fransisco CA) the card performed
well. The only problem I had was finding outlets in the airports to plug into.

Ciao . . .

YES! Is it me, or are the airports steadily removing all of the
available outlets? I was at O'Hare a couple of weeks ago and there
were none in the gate areas, just along the hallways.

Check the support pillars for them Emanuel, I've noticed them there.
