Hi,

I have the WRT54G router running on a mixed mode, and a PC running
windows 2000 with WMP54G which frequently disconnects.

The PCI card frequently drops connections. I had it initially set up
to obtain an IP address automatically, and later I specified an IP
address (192.168.1.101 etc.), and yet the connection continued to drop
every now and then.

The signal strength according to the monitoring utility is good. I am
able to easily access the browser based configuration utility. I only
have problems with accessing internet (i think). (If there are any
troubleshooting tests that i should take to provide you with more
information, please let me know.)

The card disconnects every 5 or 10 seconds i think. Please let me know
if there are any steps i must take.

thanking you,
Craig

Make sure that you have the most current driver for your wireless network
adapter in your computer as well as the most current firmware installed for
your router. I had the same problem with one laptop on my wireless network.
Downloading and installing the latested driver stopped the problem.
