Hi Lisa,
Not sure if this will help, but I have a Linksys wireless, "cabled" desktop
and a wireless Dell laptop...
Every once in a while I have the same problem you are having and to cure it,
I have to reboot "unplug" the Linksys... I also "unplug" the DSL modem to
reboot it. Be sure to shot off your laptop before rebooting the Linksys....
once your Linksys and cable/DSL modem reboots fully, fire up the laptop..
This should "re-connect" the communication between your laptop and Linksys,
and reset the proxy detection... at least it does mine...
Oh, mine also says "connection excellent" when I cannot surf the net...
reboot everything and boom.. detects proxy settings and now I can surf the
net...
Hope this helps
Dave
