Do you have a wired ethernet adapter in the xp laptop? If so, have you tried
it using the wired connection? If you still can't access the internet, then
it could be a messed up winsock. Try doing a ipconfig/renew from the Run>cmd
line to see if that looks normal or not. I had the same problem last week
with my internet for some reason disappearing, and I got an error when I
tried the ipconfig/renew. I did a google and found a link to
http://www.tek-tips.com/gviewthread....581/qid/346979
and in that a thread a pointer from "bcastner" to a utility that fixes the
winsock. I ran it and presto I could now access the internet again.
