Hi,

This question is on how to bridg or link two differnet subnet, so one node
in one subnet can communicate with other nodes in another subnet.

The following are the details on what I'm trying to do.

We are trying to setup a test environment to test Microsoft iSCSI initiator
(an Ethernet application) and iSCSI router (another Ethernet application).
We install the iSCSI initiator on one app server that has two NICs on two
different subnets (IP for one NIC is 192.168.100.200 and IP for the 2nd NIC
is 192.168.70.200). The iSCSI router has two (Ethernet) ports
(192.168.100.100 and 192.168.70.100).

It seems Microsoft iSCSI initiator running on the app server can only
connect to one iSCSI router's port on one subnet . How can we solve this
issue (if it's possible) and let Microsoft iSCSI initiator talks to both
subnets?

Thanks,

T.

Would you please tell where the Linux part is in here.

Can I revise my question to this then:

How to bridg or link two differnet subnet, so an Ethernet application on a
Linux machine siting in one subnet can communicate with other nodes in
another subnet.

Thanks,

Once again:

Please show the set-up of different hosts (machines/computers) in your
proposed system, and mark which of them run Windows and which Linux.

In principle, there must be one computer connected to both subnets
and it has to be set up so that the packets are forwarded between
the subnets. This implies enabling IP forwarding and a suitable
routing table. It may be necessary to set up routes in the other
computers, too.

Subnet routing does not transfer all Ethernet traffic, only IP traffic.
If you need transferring Ethernet frames other than IP frames, you
need to set up bridging in the computer connected to both nets.

For Linux, there is a HOWTO document about bridging.

Sorry for not giving more details, cannot do it without sufficient
details of your set-up.

Thanks for the information. I think you have answered my question.
