Hi,

I amd trying to connect a new Compaq Laptop with Vista Home Premium installed on it, to my Belkin G wireless router (f5d7630-4a) with WPA-PSK security enabled but I can't get it to connect (error message is "Wireless Authentication Failed Because of Timeout "). The firmware of the router is update as is the wireless network card (atheros AR5007 802.11b/g) drivers and vista is completely uptodate as well. All antivirus and firewall software is also turned off

If I turn off the security altogether it has not problems connecting but as soon as I turn back on the WPA it won't connect.
It also connects perfectly with an ethernet cable.
I have tried Compaq and Belkin and neither have bee much help
Can anyone help me please...

BTW there are other XP machines that happily connect wirelessly with WPA turned on.

Cheers
