Help, 2nd computer connected, can't access internet

I have verizon dsl westell wireless gateway 327W15 on my computer. We bought
new emachines computer for upstairs, installed the OS, and wireless netgear
usb adapter WG111802.11g. It is connected with excellent signal, yet we
can't get on internet. Spent hours on phone with verizon, and netgear, no
one knows what the problem is. Will someone please help? Thanks, Cindy
