Hi all,
I've installed Debian unstable (trhough Morphix).
Initially i choosed to DHCP my eth0. All ok.

Now I need to switch to STATIC, but /etc/network/interfaces
only specifies LO interface, nothing about eth0.

Ifconfig showns eth0 running with its address (dhcp obtained)

"ifdown -a" only brings down LO.
The same for "networking stop".

Where is eth0 defined?

TIA
Roberto

Take a look at /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts

Maybe there, in Mandrake there are the configuration files.

In /etc/network/interfaces. man 5 interfaces.

It might be possible that the entries for eth0 were not written to
/etc/network/interfaces. Try writing the appropriate entry by hand.
