I have a new RH 9 box (mudbug2) and an older RH 7.2 box (mudbug). I'm
trying to mount a mudbug ile system (/) on the on mudbug2 but I keep
getting this when I run "mount -t nfs mudbug:/ /mnt/mudbug" from mudbug2
(/mnt/mudbug is an existing directory with 777 permissions and I am
running as root):
mount: RPC: Timed out
When I run "/usr/sbin/rpcinfo -p mudbug" from mudbug2, I get:
program vers proto port
100000 2 tcp 111 portmapper
100000 2 udp 111 portmapper
100024 1 udp 32768 status
100024 1 tcp 32768 status
100005 1 udp 33633 mountd
100005 1 tcp 45035 mountd
100005 2 udp 33633 mountd
100005 2 tcp 45035 mountd
100005 3 udp 33633 mountd
100005 3 tcp 45035 mountd
100003 2 udp 2049 nfs
100003 3 udp 2049 nfs
100021 1 udp 33642 nlockmgr
100021 3 udp 33642 nlockmgr
100021 4 udp 33642 nlockmgr
The /etc/exports file looks like this:
/ mudbug2(rw)
I ran exportfs -a
I don't see anything that looks bad in the messages log on either machine.
I am obviously overlooking something. If someone could clue me in, I'd
really apreciate it.
Thanks very much in advance and I hope everybody had a great Christmas!
Jim
