Running two mechines, one XP one 2000. Before installing Norton
firewall, everthig works fine, file sharing and printer sharing all
work. After installing Norton on the XP, both mechine cann't see each
other. Disable the Norton did not help.

Both mechine connected through a D-Link router and out to the internet
on a ADSL line.

In the Norton, the window file and printer sharing is set to "permit",
and the home network trust cover all the 192.168.0 to 192.186.0.255.

The print is on the 2000, the XP still can print to that priter, but
slow like hell, a single page can take 10 mins to print, before the
Norton was put on the XP, the printing is usually instantaneously.

It appears that there are some settings on the Norton wasn't set
right, but have no clue what that could be, please help.

Thank you very much Carey for the URL,

I have checked my register of the local mechine setting, there are no
those keys mentioned in your post, and I don't know how to input those
keys into the register.

My question is that before I install the Norton, everything works
fine, this mechine refuse to talk to each other is only after the
Norton has been installed on the mechine, I just wander that the
Norton did indeed alternated that part of my register and erase the
keys, or simplly that key was not there in the first place?

Of cause, I will go through your post again to master the skill to put
those keys into my register to see what happens.

Thanks again for your kindly help!

John
