I have a nagging issue I can't seem to resolve and hoping someone here has
run into this before or knows the solution.

This seems to only happen to laptops on my network.
This may be because I've tried to turn off "Offline Files" on our desktop
computers.
Anyways I need to figure out why these laptop computers keep going offline.
It is very frustrating for the user, they are working along just fine and
all of a sudden they loose their connection.

It's noticable to the users because we are running an application off a
networked drive and when that drive goes away it kicks the users out of the
application, or even if they're not in it but try and open it, and their
laptop computer is offline they can't access the app.
Here is a link to what the screen looks like that pops up
http://www.flickr.com/photos/32371861@N07/3429174118/
When the computer goes offline a computer icon shows up in the system tray
(bottom right hand corner of the screen).
If the user clicks on that icon, and answers OK to reconnect then everything
works again.

For a time one computer will have this issue day after day, then it will go
for a spell and not go off line.
I thought for a while that it was because the user had their wireless
connection turned on, but turning it off doesn't seem to work in the long
run.

Anyone have an answer to why this is happening and how to fix it?

Thanks

Kelvin

This will happen when you have an insufficient number of CALs to support the
required number of concurrent network resource connections.

But would it only happen to laptops?
Interesting, I'll have to check that.

Thanks

Kelvin

Perhaps because the laptop owners have different working patterns or hours
than the desktop owners . . .
