I am getting errors on a number of domain controllers (see below):

Has "time.windows.com" been depreciated?

Event Type: Warning
Event Source: W32Time
Event Category: None
Event ID: 47

Description:
Time Provider NtpClient: No valid response has been received from manually
configured peer time.windows.com after 8 attempts to contact it.

Regards

Roga

It would seem so. I just tried to ping it and all requests timed out. That
doesn't mean it doesn't exist so I tried a browser. That too timed out.

A traceroute says no address...

This one works fine:

time.nist.gov

I just successfully synchronized against time.windows.com. Maybe it was just
an outage.

Well it has been going on for about a month

I discovered:

http://www.pool.ntp.org/

which looks v helpful and removed

time.windows.com

"from the w32tm /config /manualpeerlist:"

I wonder if this is a UK thing as all of the PDC's that I am responsible for
are still having trouble with time.windows.com
