Has anyone gotten the modem in the Compaq R3000Z to work

Has anyone gotten the winmodem in the Compaq R3000z to work? I've tried
the linuxant drivers which are supposed to work for some "nvidia" modems
but they didn't detect the one in the R3000z.

This is
Class 0703: 10de:00d9 Modem: nVidia Corporation: Unknown device 00d9 (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [Generic])

"There is no win modem support."
