Is there such a thing as FREE hard drive cloning software available. If
anyone can post useful links on here I would bo delighted.

Usually from the manufacturer of your hard drive - check their
websites. Or you can use a Linux mini-distribution like tomsrtbt if
you familiarize yourself with a few basic commands.

Or something a bit less mini like Knoppix, which has a GUI and lots of
good graphical tools.

Takes a bit longer to download though :-)

True.....but it's worth it IMHO, if only to be spared hours of shouting
at a command line.

That's where you're going wrong - you should be typing at it, not
shouting at it.

You mean Linux doesn't have built in voice recognition and won't
recognise "ifconfig eth0 192.168.0.3"? Rubbish!!
