Hi!

Out local exchange has passed its trigger level and its status is
"Triggered. Awaiting 'Ready For Service' date."

Unfortunately there's no indication of how long it might stay like
this. Is there more info. anywhere?

TIA

Within a few weeks hopefully the exchange will be given an RFS date. Every
week a new batch of RFS dates are released usually late Wednesday afternoon.
Check http://www.adslguide.org.uk/ for updates. The RFS dates usually get
posted to the forums first.

Except at the moment the time between triggering and getting and RFS
is averaging over five weeks.

Which bit of averaging did you not understand? if it is averaging over
five weeks, then some exchanges will get dates less than five weeks. Or
is this basic concept of statistics, too complicated for you?

Just a little supercilious Jon - in fact, I suggest, there are many real
world situations when the 'average' is NOT the measure most people want.
Like average salary this will include too much effect from outliers
(like the chairman of Microsoft and Torpoint). Now, assuming the
distribution is unimodal, ...

Except this time it is what people want. The response is phrased in
such a manner to suggest that it is not averaging over five weeks.
