hangs when opening new folders

We have added a new computer, formerly configured for
another office's network, to ours. Everything worked fine
on it before the move. Now when we try to create a new
folder (in any program: WordPerfect, Windows Explorer),
it hangs. When we close the program and re-open it, the
folder is there. I have checked and re-checked the
network settings and loaded all of the software updates.
It seems tgo me that this is some typr of networking
problem.

What other things can I try?
