Half-dead D-Link router

Currently using a D-Link DSLG604T combined wireless router and adsl
modem. All of a sudden the wireless has vanished. None of the (3)
computers in the house can find a wireless network although the wired
connetion appears to be working fine. Can anyone suggest what the
problem might be? I've trawled google but can't find anything specific
to this problem.

Is the router's wireless light on? Have you tried unplugging the router's
power for a few seconds to reset it, in case it's got into a funny state?

When you go into the router's config menu (browse to 192.168.1.1 in IE) does
the wireless menu says that wireless is enabled? You'll need to use a PC
that's connected by Ethernet cable to do this.

Is the problem that the wireless PCs can't see the network at all or is it
that they can see the netowrk but can't connect to it?

Hi Martin,

Right. Monday update:

Wireless light is on and I've tried power cycling.
Two desktops with USB APs can connect. Unsure whether this is a lucky
glitch or permanent. They were both totally dead all weekend
One laptop with PCMCIA can see the network but cannot connect.
Previously it couldn't even see the wireless network.

I've changed nothing in the set-up in the interim!!

Had a similar thing happen - all the router setting had changed.

Go back into the Admin menu and re-setup the settings... mine came back to
life within 10 seconds of doing this and re-booting. Alternatively, use the
reset button on the back of the router and then start again from scratch
with your settings.

That sorted it out straight away. Thanks to you both for the help and
tips. Yet another idiosyncrasy of this router!!
