Thats it I've had enough!
I have a bandwidth hog in the house!

What ports need to be blocked on my router to disable peer 2 peer eg: kazaa
and limewire?

Also what else is not going to work after these ports are closed?

Thank you

Trai'

You can't effectively ban Kazaa IIRC.
Why do you care?
Are you capped at a certain transfer limit, or is your connection
just slow?

If you have XP Pro, you can modify accounts to Limited which IIRC
prevents software installations. Then remove the software. Put a lock
on your bedroom door, and arm yourself. Get a big mean dog, and vary
your daily routes. Leave a deadman's note with your attorney. Cancel
your credit cards and cell phone so as to not leave electronic traces.
Cash out your bank accounts and carry only cash. Get a birth
certificate for someone of your same age whose name is on a cemetary
monument. Get their SSN, a new driver's license, and a new passport.
Abandon your Lexus and buy an anonymous vehicle. Park it several blocks
from your house. Devise two escape routes.

OK, you are now ready to make the announcement that file sharing is no
long available in this house.

seriously ...
is there some kind of home use software/hardware to do bandwidth
management?
Let's say you wanted to limit each person to a max of 70kb/s ?

On a larger scale there is packeteer: http://www.packeteer.com/
Anything like that for home use?

Ok I'd start with stupid little bastard but my brother is older.
The creep has limewire going every dam minute he's home and it just bogs
down things.
It's my router my modem ect. I'm sick of trying to go to download something
and it being slow.
I unplug his line and zing my speed is back.

LOL!
Do I have permission to reprint this on his forehead?

It's his pc and all pc's in the house have XP Pro.
I just need a way to throttle his azz back.
If I can cut him back to a crawl I think he will give up.

well if it's your router, then just set it to only allow your MAC address.
