hi,

I have a friend who has the linksys WRT54G. Not being much of a tech
person he asked me to take a look. AFter a bitt of tinkering i found
his basic problem was that the sginal just wasen't getting from one
side of the house to the other. I though i look around and find him a
stronger router. I found a netgear that was more powerfull and was
about to buy it for him when i found that there is a way to hack a
WRT54G to double is power. So i figure before i hang his WRT54G out
for ebay and buy him a new one i might as well try that. Can anyone
give me more info?

thanks for the help,

dan

dan

From i can tell seavsoft is the olny one which you can upgrade the
firmware to. It is though it is the olny one that you have to pay for.
Do any of the free ones though allow for the power to be increased?

Go here ftp://ftp.sveasoft.com/pub/Satori_v2...v-pre1.bin.zip. No
charge for this version!

This driver alows you to adjust the power for wireless, but I'm not so sure
it makes a major difference in my home. It does help some. Don't set it
above 64 though. See the manual at http://docs.sveasoft.com/SV-Guide.html
