Hello. For months, I tried to configure my Linux gateway to accept and route
H323 connections from my LAN clients to the outside world, in vain. So I
gave up. (Xcuse me, but patch-o-matic has patched my brain upside down...)

For the people that are in the same case, I make a suggestion : try Skype.

I'm not from the Skype team, but I tried this soft and really enjoyed it.
The quality is incredible, so simple to configure, and the best of all, you
don't need to have a public IP address to accept incoming calls, and you can
pass through firewall and NAT !!! This sofware is based on p2p network, it
works great.

Go to www.skype.com download it it's free, and tell me what you think about
it.

Regards.

PS : I haven't seen any post about this software, so that's why I post.

Tibo

Yes Skype rulez )
sounds almost great and works through NAT-gateways.
But there is still no linux version of the client :-(

Best VOIP software for linux is Teamspeak2 ( www.teamspeak.org )
It's serverbased and needs some configurations.

I think skype will be the standard voip-tool for the future.

I totally agree. Server centralized architecture is not adapted for networks
that are going bigger and bigger.

About Linux, see the skype faq :

Is Skype available for Mac OS, Linux, Palm OS, Pocket PC..?
Currently, Skype is only available for Windows 2000 and XP. Stay tuned for
more information about other platforms.

Imagine, Skype on my Smartphone, I could use it in order to phone instead of
using the phone feature of my phone !!! ;-)

The News
NGZ file links Posted by: [woutur] on 06-09-2003 @ 15:39
Dear TeamSpeak users,

Webhosters and web administrators that have directly linked to our
filehoster at NGZ with the following link:
ftp://ftp.ngz-network.de/pub/11/4/*

should take that link off their sites RIGHT NOW!
The files there contain a virus and should NOT be downloaded.
This fileserver seem to be compromised and there is no one available at
NGZ to shut the server down or delete the files.

The links on this page are virus free and safe to use.

The TeamSpeak team
