Group Policy Wizard -- One Fix

Hi,

I'm just contributing to the grand knowledgebase. :-)

I had just joined my laptop to a domain and I found I couldn't do
certain things on it. One such thing I had been trying to do was drill
down applied Group Policy, but when I ran the Group Policy Wizard in
SBS, I would get a "RPC Server Unavailable" message. DNS was working,
ports were drilled into the SP2 firewall, but the twain never met.

Months ago I became a beta tester for Windows Live One Care. It didn't
occur to me until just now that the it applies its OWN firewall which,
even thought it looks and smells exactly like the general SP2 Firewall,
is actually something else.

Disabling that allowed me to connect and run the Wizard.

Cheers,

m

I was wondering if We would get that in the Action Pack Subscription?
Windows Live One Care that is.

I took off my live one care beta ... I'm not sure how well it works in a
(SBS) network environment.... I had it conflicting with other similar
situations myself.
