Hello - At our school I would like to use a group policy on our Win2003
server to automatically shutdown XP workstations each evening that have not
been turned off in the classrooms at the end of the school day. I assume I
have to create an AD group of classroom computers and apply this policy only
to those machines. What is the best way to accomplish this and where do I
find the GPO that will allow me to do this? TIA - Scott Schaffer, Heschel Day

You'll need to add a scheduled task on each workstation that will do that.
(the only thing that you can do with the GPO is to push that task).

If I add a scheduled task to do this how can I make sure that it will shut
down the machine no matter who is logged on or if nobody is logged on? Will
it give the user an opt out if by chance the machine is in use?

Thanks, Scott
