Grant User Permissions on Win2k3 across a Trusted Domain

Hello,

We have a WIn2K3 domain configured with multiple segments which are trusted,
we are trying to give a user rights to a folder on a Win2K3 server, the user
is in another domain. When we go in to add the user from right clicking on
the folder, selecting Properties - Security - Add - Location, we can select
the location but get nothing back. However we can try the same thing from a
Win2K server and get a list of users.
What could be set in Win2K3 that is not set in Win2K that would cause us not
to get a list of users from which to select?

Just my opinion, but normally I think the best way to accomplish something
like this is to use security groups. Add the selected user to a global
security group and assign permissions for the group.
