GPO trouble

Hi I have one overall server group policy object and one specific group
policy object for each server role i.e terminal server, print server and so
on.

on the server ou i have set computer and user policies.
and on the specific server policy i have linked the gpo object to overide
the setting (if any).

When i logon as a user localy on the server all modified changes is applied.
But if i by remote desktop logon to the server and then specify the domain
instead of the local machine i dont get the changes from the overall server
policy.

i want to set the GUI and user configuration and standard configuration of
all servers at a top level and specific changes to the server role OU.

Why cant i logon to the machine remotely through Active Directory. I can get
prefered changes by logon to the server remotely and by choosing the local
machine instead of the domain machine.


Please help!!
