For some strange reason my administrator password was set to blank??,
and now I can't login to win2k as admin, as it won't accept a blank
password. I can only get in as a user, which is no good as I don't have
all my settings and emails for my wifes account.
I have tried logging in as admin in safe mode but same thing.
I am admin in my winXP box, so is there any way I can set an admin
password in win2k?

Thanks

There are a few utilities that claim to be able to modify passwords in
the registry while offline by booting from a floppy/CD, like these:

http://home.eunet.no/pnordahl/ntpasswd/ (passwords only)
http://www.ebcd.pcministry.com/ (a collection of system recovery tools)

I've never had to use them, so can't vouch for their effectiveness.

Thanks for that one. I managed to clear the admins password with one of
the NT password programs on the CD, and it worked, as I got back in as
admin with no password required.

I would say I could help you but I can't...
I know how to change the password if you are locked out of any account but the admin... unless you are talking about a user access that's set to admin..

try this

boot up into safemode and type in the run box via start/run

" control userpasswords2 " it should bring up a nice little window to reset any password you need resetted

goodluck and I hope it works - if you can access your problem this way
