Goodbye pipex! Hello Be ?

Yippee!! - My 12 month 'Max' contract with Pipex is now over, so now
it's time to jump that ship that has already sunk.

I was going to go with ADSL24, but there are so many reports of people
saying that it's getting slower and slower for them that I don't think
I'll take the risk.

With that in mind and having already checked my exchange details, I'm
now thinking of going with Be (http://www.bethere.co.uk)

Does anyone have any experience/thoughts/comments on this ISP ?

Others have said that it's fast - it uses ADSL2 - but if there's a problem,
they don't like flagging it to BT for resolution, 'cos it might cost them
money.

Yeah, works for me. Although we may find it decreases in speed as the hoi
polloi start to sign up!

I had it installed in two homes a couple of months ago. Bebox was
delayed but everything else was fine. Speed has settled down to
~10.5Mbps which, for GBP18/month with fixed IP I'm very happy with.
Every other adsl ISP told me I'd get a max of 4Mbps at my distance from
the exchange.

Support is responsive both on the phone and via their online message
system.

Thought Pipex had sunk a while ago, all started to go wrong when BT changed
the way they charged ISPs.

Very happy Be customer here after migrating from BT 18 months ago
There are issues between Be and BT Wholesale / Openreach, but I perceive
this to be more BT
Make sure your internal wiring is up to scratch whilst waiting to be
connected
http://www.smithit.co.uk/optimize.html

I'm sure you'll be more than happy. There is good support also from other
Be*ings on the official forums and http://www.beforum.co.uk

Remember to contact Pipex after you've been migrated to cancel billing ( and
try and get confirmation that billing has been cancelled by Pipex in
writing ) - it won't happen automatically

Thanks for that. Think I've pretty much decided to go for it and give
them a shot. Certainly can't be any worse than Pipex.
