Hi All-

I currently have a Linksys BEFW11S4 (v3.2) WAP router with 4 Ethernet ports
(Verizon DSL, Two laptops running Windows XP and Windows 98SE). It has
driven me crazy over the past few months: Wireless DHCP gets stuck, and big
downloads stall (even though I can still ping the site). All these happen
sporadically in an untracable manner that is really frustrating, and the
Linksys tech support has not offered any insights. Let me know if you have
had similar issues and found the root of the problem.

Has anyone switched from Linksys to D-Link and been satisfied? Do you think
I should buy a D-Link box or do they have the same problems (or even worse
their own problems)?

Any help is appreciated.

Payam

Make sure you have the latest firmware updates. I have the original model
befw11s4 and also had problems with large file transfers between PCs on my
network. A recent firmware patch fixed it.

I once had a D-link wireless but returned it because it could not handle
IPSec pass thru (they now do). But I have been very happy with my befw11s4.
