I have a U.S. Robotics Model 8000-02 and a D-Link DI-604, they are both
excellent, and remarkably similar in many respects.

The USR has a built in print server and a connector to allow an external
modem to make a dialup connection if the B/B fails.

Of course the inherent characteristics of any NAT router provide
excellent protection against nasties.

My 5p. YMMV.

I use a Belkin 4-port router with NTL 150K. It does have a firewall but
there are good instructions on creating a DMZ for gaming.

Have tried the Netgear RT314 with absolutley no problems & the person
I let it go to has had no problems with it either. Only
upgraded/expanded to a FR318 as I needed more ports & here again
despite the fact that has a built in firewall I have had no problems.
