I have used dyndns.org. It does not allow to set an expiry time on the
DNS entry.

I am using ddns.nu. Recently, it was quite often not functional.

What is a good, free, reliable dyndns provider for Linux that allows me
to set the expiry time to not more than 600 seconds?

Regards,
Mark

ok, I have found dynu.com. Quite simple updates. Nice. But it does not
support wildcard domains.

zoneedit.com

But you need to have your own domain name. Get a cheap on from
namebargain.com

I have used no-ip.com for years. They say that have 5 minute update time,
but expire time is 60 seconds, so update typically seems to be immediate.
Since I am on dynamic adsl, I run their Unix update client automatically
from /etc/ppp/ip-up whenever pppoe gets an IP. It is free for their
subdomains or a fee for your own domain (you can set mx and either can do
wildcard next level subdomains as A records).

I've been using zoneedit for quite some time, but just started taking
advantage of the dynamic dns. Been using ddclient, and it has worked
flawlessly. There are other tools out there, as well, but this has
worked well for me.

Yes, I do agree with David. They even help you run webserver at
non-standard port where it gets redirected from standard port 80. Cool
feature, indeed!
