What speed increase are people typically seeing relative to adsl max on
adsl2+ enabled exchanges?

Are there any problems resulting from exchange upgrade?

How badly should I want my exchange to be upgraded to adsl2+ ?

The graphs are on www.kitz.co.uk somewhere.

On vet long lines its marginally worse, on medium length line its
slightly better. Only on short lines do you really get some speed increase.

I've seen theoretical graphs. I am interested in actual experience of
people on exchanges that have been upgraded to 21CN WBC.

When on an up to 8Mb I got 6Mb with Entanet
Now on up to 24Mb and get 12.5Mb. with Be

O2 and Tesco say I would get 7Mb if I switch to either of their up to 20Mb
services.
Yes does not make sense as Be and O2 same company.

David

51dB from the exchange went from 3.1 to 3.2meg download but the upload
went from 400k to 620k. (sky llu)

Presumably you're asking about throughput here and not sync speed.
Throughput depends on the ISP you're using, the exchange you're
connected to, the equipment you're using, how you're connected to it and
your sync speed, so the best answer you're going to get is feeding your
line stats into an estimator and extrapolating from there.

Mine went up from 6000kb/s to 10000kb/s (downstream), and from 400kb/s to
1000kb/s (upstream).

My router was a Zyxel P645R circa 2002. It would not work on ADSL2+, or
even fall back. Luckily I had a new router ready to go (BT upgraded
slightly early and caught me out).

Depends how badly you want the speed! .-)
Really useful having a faster upstream, for me at least.

BE Broadband, about 440m from the exchange (following likely cable route)

sync:
20109 kb/s
1287 kb/s

Real world (speedtest.net)
17350 kb/s
1120 kb/s

So, for me, considerably better than regular rate-adaptive. product.

Be LLU connection 1.5Km from exchange on 26.5db attenuation getting 22622
sync speed on fastpath profile with a throughput of around 19000. Router is
a Netgear DGND3300 which is better than the original Be Box
