Hi Grant
basically, a hub will dynamically switch the data packets from port to port
along a common internal highway, so the port-to-port bandwidth will depend
on how many ports are being used. A switch however, has a different
internal architecture like a crossbar and sets up point to point links
between the ports so they can go at full sped to each other.
