You have probably a firewall running (Norton?). You need
to uninstall it. Also disable ICF if it is enabled.
The easiest way is to configure the PC manually. (The
router is self-contained and does not depend on a host
PC, so the PC does not need the router software).
STEP 1: Open Network Connections and and add a Network
Connection. Leave the IP to be "assigned by the server."
You don't need to change the router settings.
STEP 2: Then go to IE, open Tools|Options|Connections and
make sure to select Use LAN only (or Use dialup when a
LAN connection is not available).
STEP 3: Change the workgroup to match the workgroup name
on other computers (if you want to exchange files with
the other computers).
