Gmail for mobile app sometimes crashes Cingular Motorola V551

I'm running Gmail for mobile 1.0.0 (the new downloadable J2ME app) on a
Cingular Motorola V551 (latest firmware: 55R), and it generally works
well, except that it sometimes crashes the phone to a white screen and
automatic restart. This seems to happen most often when scrolling
through my Inbox, although it sometimes happens when just sitting in
Inbox view.

I don't think the problem is in the phone (which has the latest
firmware) because it runs other J2ME apps (e.g., Opera Mini) well.

Anyone else seeing this problem?
