Hello,
Is it still possible to buy an 8-port gigabit hub without switch
capabilities(i.e. one which broadcasts on all of its ports)?
I tried looking for one, but only found switches...
Thanks in advance.

Was it ever possible to buy a gigabit hub?

Are you looking to do packet tracing or something? A managed switch
with "monitor port" capability might be the way to go there.

Don't know, never had to buy one before...

I need it for load-balancing windows terminal servers. One cable is
connected to the switch, and the machines are plugged into the remaining
ports on the hub. That's why I need a hub - so that all the machines get
all traffic.
Is it at all possible to configure a managed switch to work in this mode?
Thanks!

AFAIK there have never ever been Gigabit hubs available.

So where's your Linux networking problem?

Why on earth do we get blasted with some sucking doze problem
permanently?

The name of this group is *comp.os.linux.networking*, which
doesn't mean you can simply unload your doze problems here and
get it answered in a minute.

Good luck

It never was and probably never will be. Nobody has ever bothered to
specify or implement half-duplex gigabit networking because it's nobody has
ever had any want or use for it. Switches can be configured with monitoring
ports if you want.
