I have a graphics design group I need to segment on the LAN with their
own server, running Gigabit Ethernet. I'm using HP ProCurve 4000
switches, but Gigabit modules run about $350 per port and I need at
least five plus a new chassis. I've been looking at workgroup Gigabit
switches, and am wondering if anyone has experiences with them, good
bad or indifferent. For example, the Linksys SR2016 looks good on
paper, a 10/100/1000 switch for about the cost of two gigabit modules
for my ProCurves. Manageability is not an issue for this project.
Suggestions anyone?
Thanks,
Jeff
