This message is really a follow up to one posted a few days ago by someone
else. It was recommended that Netlimiter could be used to record WAN
(Internet Traffic) wihout it involving local LAN (Local Network Traffic)
into the totals. Well I have played about with it for hours and I cant get
Netlimiter working so that only the WAN side of the network are recorded.
Can anyone help me?

My router is 192.168.0.1
My PC running Netlimiter is 192.168.0.10 (This PC stays on all the time)
LAN Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0

How do I set up Netlmiter so that it only records WAN (and not LAN) activity
on this PC?

Thanks
Steve

Well being a curious chap I downloaded NetLimiter from:-

http://www.netlimiter.com/.

Just the free version of course. Installed it on my W2k laptop and away it
went recording activity. It has created two zones, Local Network and
Internet which seems to match what you want. Flipping to the "View menu I
can see statistics for "Internet" and "Local Network" which I guess equates
to "WAN" and "LAN" above. If I download a large file the LAN figure does not
change but the WAN goes up. I guess its not quite what you are asking, as it
still records both LAN and WAN, However the totals are recorderd
separateley, so you can view LAN or WAN totals....

What was it you wanted that it does not do? Did you want to record multiple
computers?

Can your Router use SNMP?

If so take a look at PRTG Freeware Edition, that should give you all you
need.
