"localhost" is a TCP/IP standard name which refers to 127.0.0.1, which
should be every TCP/IP machine's loopback interface. I don't know how
well MS Windows machines adhere to this standard ... probably NOT well
because MS tends to disregard / misunderstand standards ... but you
definitely should not try to use that as your system hostname.
Come up with another name, and consult your Red Hat documentation to see
how to change it.
Yes, I know that Red Hat (and Mandrake too?) defaults to a hostname of
"localhost.localdomain" for all new installs. This, unfortunately, is
not a good idea.
