Good day everyone.
I'm not that advanced in configuring networks, especially not wireless
networks.
Some months ago, I switched from Ubuntu 10.10 to Debian 6 because I
noticed before how well Knoppix 6.7 works on the computer.
Ubuntu should get replaced soon by another distribution anyway, so
Debian was the choice.
There's just one problem, right now.
I own a wireless LAN usb adapter from hama (German manufactor) that
contains a Ralink 2870/3070 chipset, according to lsusb.
Actually, it worked fine under Ubuntu so far.
Well, I knew that Debian will not work with "some" hardware out of the
box, so I decided to google for a simple and fast solution, what
resulted in the following page:
http://vivahate.com/2011/04/04/ralin...ian-6-squeeze/
I did everything as explained there, but it didn't worked.
No wait, that's just half the truth.
Searching networks is no problem, but neither can I connect to one nor
create one.
Gnome's networkmanager says, unknown speed, what shouldn't be, I guess.
Could anyone help me getting this thing working again?
The system itself is connected by a wired connection, however, since our
router doesn't like my netbook (for whatever reason), I'd love to get
everything working again, so I don't need to take the cable everytime
I'm using the netbook.
M.S.
