I have a friend who has two phone numbers (DACS) He wants to dispose
of one line and go BB. What is the best way to get rid of the DACS
box? Approach an isp or will BT remove it if he is not sining up with
them? (Clara is favorite as present dial up)

placing an order for ADSL BB will result in the DACS being removed
from the number the BB is ordered on. This is part of the process
where you order BB from ISP and BT remove DACS to install BB as
requested by ISP. Getting yourself in the loop probably messes it up.

So the friend should choose the number to keep and place an order for
BB on that number
