Hi,

Anyone know who to contact at Nildram (preferably an email address) so
I can get a MAC? I can't find the information on he web page and I got
no response to an email to Nildram support.

Thanks!

Kit

Pipex ignore any MAC requests by email - and I suspect Nildram will all feed
into the same. Just phone CS.

So who did you decide to swap to?

UKFSN.ORG Home MAX 30 looks like a good deal for my usage. That gives
fixed IP address, POP3 mail, etc all for £19.99 per month.

When I emailed them about traffic shaping they responded in 20 mins to
give me a detailed response.

QUOTE
The only traffic management in place is a loss/latency prevention tool
which works as follows:

In the event that usage on a central pipe exceeds 96% all customers on

that central pipe whose download speed is greater than 2.5Mb have
their
download speed reduced by 500kb/s. This happens until either usage
drops
below 96% or the download speed reaches 2Mb - the system will not
reduce
speed below 2Mb.

Once usage drops below 91% speeds are increased in 200kb/s increments.

That seems very reasonable to me, so I'll give them a try (it's just a
monthly contract).

Phone sales. I phoned support who put me through to sales.............at
Freedom2Surf!!! WTF??? The guy at F2S obviously thought it was hilarious
and put me through to Nilly sales. A reflection of how bad things have
become?
They were good enough to give me my MAC straight off without any fuss,
which is the way it should be. I can't understand how companies say they
will phone you back or email you it. It's simply a case of clicking a
button.
Moved away from Pipex twice now.
