Getting DNS errors, can't browse?

Hi all,

I have 4 computers all running W98SE. One of the computers
I just reloaded from scratch (used to have Linux on it, that worked
fine). The new compter has an Intel Pro100S nic in it. I can
browse the lan just fine. I can ping all the local computers just fine.
I can ping yahoo.com with the real IP address just fine. The two
DNS numbers that work with all the other computers are put in
correctly but I have two problems that are probably related. First,
when I try to ping the dns numbers I get a time out error. Second
when I try to ping "yahoo.com" the computer just locks up. I can
put in the IP address in IE for google.com and it will come up but
when I try to go to it as my main startup page I get a dns error.
I have reloaded client, tcp/ip and sharing several times, no help.
Since I can ping "real numbers" I assume the hardware is ok so it
must be in the configuration but where? The new machine is
setup exactly like the one next to it yet I can't browse the
Internet. Any other ideas?

thanks,
charles.....
