hello community

after 'round 10hrs of googling, try & fail and registry tweaking i came
across this KB article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b/875501/en-us

it seems to describe my problem: after 1-2min of successfull vpn connection
(w2k3sp1 being the vpn client), the vpn connection stops accepting any data
(not even ping works) for around 1min until it resumes working. no way one
can work like his.

unfortunately, the hotfix kb875501 seems only available upon request. a
request means: phone inqury, which costs around 400$ / call (!!). i just
can't afford this amount of money to fix something i didn't break. is there
another way to get ahold of this hotfix.

if i can't get my vpn to work again i'll have to go back to pre-sp1 - a very
unpleasant thought :-(

Hi Thomas,

If you will call Microsoft any only request this patch and request no other
support from Microsoft, they will _not_ charge you!

I hope this helps.

hotfix is FREE. quoted from http://howtonetworking.com.

How to obtain a hotfix

To resolve a specific problem you are experiencing immediately, contact Microsoft Product Support Services to obtain the hotfix. It is FREE. To do that, find the article describes the issue. Then call Microsoft at (888) 677-9444 and give them the article #. Microsoft will send the hotfix to you by email.

Don't send e-mail or reply to me except you need consulting services. Posting on MS newsgroup will benefit all readers and you may get more help.
