How to get rid of popup asking for user ID and password

My roommate and I have set up our home network. When we go to network places,
we see each other's computers, but when we click on them for sharing, we are
asked for user ID and password. When we ran the network wizard we were never
prompted to set these up, so we have none to enter at the popup box. How do
we correct this situation?
