How to get existing xp workstation to logon to a new Windows 2003 server

Please excuse me if this is the wrong place for this question.
If you tell me a better place I will post it there.

I am new to Windows Servers. so if this seems like a dumb question, sorry.

I have about 45 shops to convert from Netware 5.1 to Windows server 2003.
Each shop has a Netware 5.1 server and from 3 to 14 workstations connected
to it.
Each shop is on a seperate network/tree, there is no connection between them.
Every workstation has its own profile and is configured to fit the user needs.
Currently when a workstation logs on to the Netware server it gets all of
the needed

fileserver drive mapping and printer queues automaticly from a single login
script on the

server.

My problem is that I can't find a viable way to connect these workstation to
the new 2003

server.

If I configure the PC to log on to the server 2003's domain, then it will
creat a new

profile and loss the user's current desktop and all related settings.

If I configure the PC to log on to the workstation, (which keeps the user
current profile)

I can't find a way to have it automaaticly get the drive mapping directly
from the server.

Is there a way to logon to a workstation and then get and execute a standard
logon script

from the server??

Thank you
Howard R. Levy

Logon to the local Workstation first.

Run the File & Settings Transfer Wizard and save the Profile to a location
on the hard drive

Logon with the Domain Account and let it create a new profile.

Run the File & Settings Transfer Wizard again and retrieve/restore the
Profile from the location on the hard drive where it was saved. The old
local profile can now be either deleted or just left there as a backup. Now
log out and log back in to reload the profile.

PST files from Outlook may not transfer and will have to be copied into the
new profile afterwards. I'm not sure if that is always true, but it has
happened to me.

When doing the same thing between different machines it is better to run the
F&STW from the XP CD to insure the version of the F&STW doesn't change.
Some Windows Updates may cause the version to change which can cause a
mis-match between different machines,..and the Profile *must* be backed up
and restored with the same version of the F&STW. To run it from the CD
just insert it and let it autorun. Choose the option "other tasks" (or
something like that). I believe it will transfer profiles between OS
versions as well, such as NT4, Win2000, XP, Vista,...so it is good in
upgrade situations as well.
