Logon to the local Workstation first.
Run the File & Settings Transfer Wizard and save the Profile to a location
on the hard drive
Logon with the Domain Account and let it create a new profile.
Run the File & Settings Transfer Wizard again and retrieve/restore the
Profile from the location on the hard drive where it was saved. The old
local profile can now be either deleted or just left there as a backup. Now
log out and log back in to reload the profile.
PST files from Outlook may not transfer and will have to be copied into the
new profile afterwards. I'm not sure if that is always true, but it has
happened to me.
When doing the same thing between different machines it is better to run the
F&STW from the XP CD to insure the version of the F&STW doesn't change.
Some Windows Updates may cause the version to change which can cause a
mis-match between different machines,..and the Profile *must* be backed up
and restored with the same version of the F&STW. To run it from the CD
just insert it and let it autorun. Choose the option "other tasks" (or
something like that). I believe it will transfer profiles between OS
versions as well, such as NT4, Win2000, XP, Vista,...so it is good in
upgrade situations as well.
