German DSL Modem in UK

I'm an ex-pat Brit living in Germany until the end of this month when
I'm returning to the UK (permanently). I have a Deutsche Telekom DSL
300 LAN modem. My question is - can I use this modem in the UK?

Is it DSL over ISDN (which is common in Germany) (Annex B) or DSL over
Analogue telephone line? (Annex A) Need to be the latter to stand a
chance of working in the UK

probably not, as most DSL in .de is ADSL over ISDN (annex B ?) rather
than ADSL over PSTN.

If you can see what make/model it really is, or get hold of a spec
sheet, you should be able to see what its compatible with.

As long as ts not for use on ISDN, (But even then some are dual working) You
should be able to. I have sold routers to Germany and they worked Ok so the
opposite must be possible.

It depends on whether you get your German ADSL over ISDN or not. German
ADSL is generally supplied over ISDN (Annex B) whereas in the UK it's over
an analogue line (Annex A). The two firmware versions are incompatible and
I believe the hardware is different also.

Thanks everybody. It's an Annex B modem - ISDN. So I can't use it in
the UK. Anybody want to buy a German ADSL modem? Real nice - Teledat
300 LAN, one careful owner, full service history complete with box,
manual and splitter.
