I just purchased a new Linksys WRT54G to replace my current wired router
(BEFSR41). I am now looking for a PCI card for one of my computers.
Linksys PCI cards are quite expensive. Anyone have any experience with
Xterasys. These are available online for 44.00. Anyone have any experience
with others?

David

Consider USB wireless for a change. I heard some of them have much better
results because they can be placed somewhere other than behind you pc and,
because of this, experience much less interference.

I'll second that.

I have two PCMCIA cards, a PCI card adapter with a PCMCIA card in it,
and 2 Belkin USB adapters. The USB adapters blow all the others away
for range.

A bit cumbersome for a notebook, but works great on a desktop machine
in the basement (the wireless router is 2 floors up from it).

Thanks-after hooking up my new G router and getting 70% signal strength I
will go the USB route. I am inclined to wait until next month when Linksys
wil roll out their new USNB unit.

I can personally highly recommend the Linksys WUSB11 after
disappointment with three different PCMIA wireless adapters.

Sorry, I've just re-read the header. The WUSB11 is 802.11b only.

Apologies again :-)
