I just tried to upload a file to my web site using Ipswich's FTP LE
and was unable to do so getting the below message

When I attempt to upload a file to my web site I get the message
550 only "incoming" directories are quest writable

This is the first time I have tried to upload a file since upgrading
my internet connection to high speed cable modem.
I am also now using a Linksys wireless router.
Any help with this problem greatly appreciated

Which model LinSys wireless router do you have?

I use Rogers cable modem, too, and I just recently added a LinkSys WRT54G
802.11g wireless router, and I don't have any problem uploading files (on my
desktop PC that connects to the router wired not wireless, through ftp, I am
using Absolute FTP 1.95 not Ipswitch's FTP LE, by the way) to my website.

The problem I have with this LinkSys wireless router is, my other desktop
PC or a laptop that connects to this router WIRELESSLY does not
automatically get connected to the router upon the PC/laptop's reboot, after
the reboot (running Windows 2000 Pro with SP4) and Windows 2000's log in, I
must click the LinkSys USB 802.11g wireless network adapter icon and then
click its "Connect" button and then wait for about 2 to 3 minutes before I
finally get the PC/laptop connected to the LinkSys Wireless Router!

Enable Port Forwarding for ports 20 through 21. The router will let
communications pass on a port that was used first by you with an outbound
packet. Some FTP sites will reply back on port 20. Since it wasn't first
opened by an outgoing packet from you, the router blocks it. If that doesn't
work, try running an ident server like mIRC or identd.exe.
