Hi all,

I am tasked to create an FTP server that would enable access of data in our
win2003 server from a remote location to do download/upload. I am new to
FTP and have no idea how to set it up so please bear with me. FYI... we are
using D-link router to share our internet connection.

Thanks in advance,

Garry

Thanks in advance,

Garry

I'm in a similar boat, trying to set up an FTP site with 2003 Server.

I have the site up and runing. From on-site I can bring IE6 and see
directory listing using a username and password using login as.

Unforunatly from externally I can only login to the site. I've tested
getting that far using the dos ftp function. Using IE6 I timeout at
Gettting File List. The site has a partial T1 with a router firewall. I
have opened up ports 20 and 21 to pass through to ftp server. Since I
can login some of this must be working. I've tried reading abot the
differecnes between passive and non-passive ftp. I set the ftp server
to use only ports 5000-5010 and had the ISP open those ports for pass
through. Still no go.

I'm not certain of the router model, the configuration is handled by
the ISP(XO). Is there something else I should be doing here?

Thanks in advance for any advice.
