Hello

I cant connect to any ftp site if the site is running on port 21.

I have a two NIC server set up and use ICS to share my internet
connection. No matter whether or not I am working on the server or on
any of the connected PCs, I cant connect on port 21.

I have tried the command line client as well as BulletProof FTP - both
just report connection refused. I have tried this with both my
firewall switched on and off.

The sites are not full - I can go to a work (outwith my ICS) PC and
connect to them just fine.

Anyone have any idea what could be going on?

Jonathan

Are you trying to FTP within the LAN on the public IP
of the server? It won't work. With priavte NIC IP it should work (provided
FPT server is listening to both
public and private IPs.)

I should have been more clear. I only have a problem if the port is
21. If the ftp server is running on port 2121 (for example) I connect
to it fine. So something at my end is messing up my port 21 traffic -
I dont even know if the signal gets to the ftp server or if something
at my end is somehow returning connection refused.
