Hi,
Got a setting with a FTP site associated to 199.x.y.z that is accessible
from the internal network 192.168.0.0, but not accessible from the outside
word ( as in the case of a laptop, not connected on 192.168.0.0, but
connected through a dial-up modem to Internet).
Windows 2003 freshly installed on a freshly reformatted HD.
Security: We removed the NTFS "security" on the FTP folder, and even tried
allowing anonymous connection (with a network administrative user rights ...
for the testing) but we cannot connect to the FTP site from outside.
We did not bridged the two network cards (192.168.0.x and 199.x.y.z ) since
when we do, we loose access to the FTP site even internally (from machines
on network 192.168.0.0).
We can ping 199.x.y.z from the outside, as well as from inside, so the
packets are correctly routed, and we conclude the exterior knows how to
reach 199.
The machine has ALSO to be (and is, for testing) the default gateway for
192.168.0.0.
There are Linux machines on the local network, but I fail to see how they
can be of any problem, they are used for mail, as far as I have been told.
What may have we missed? Something trivial, probably, but what?
Thanks,
